Wife of the Executive Chairman of Mangu Local Government Area, Mrs. Nanbyen Emmanuel Mwolpun, has commenced thfe flagged off the distribution of sanitary pads to the girl-child in the council.
In a statement sighed on Monday by Jeremiah Dakahap, the Director of Press and Publicity (DOPP) to the Executive Chairman, the exercise themed “Together for a Hygiene Period, 2025,” took place at the NUT hall in Mangu, covering 20 secondary schools across the 3 zones of the local government, with 10 girls from each school benefiting, and each girl going home with one roll of sanitary pad.
While speaking at the event, Mrs. Mwolpun emphasized the need for maintaining good hygiene, adding that cleanliness is next to godliness.
She encouraged the girls to prioritize their health, as their well-being is crucial to their academic success and overall development.
The Commissioner for Women Affairs, Hon. Caroline Dafur, applauded the wife of the Executive Chairman for her kind gesture and encouraged the girls to make the most of this initiative, prioritize their education, and become future leaders.
The Commissioner noted that this initiative shows a great commitment to the welfare and empowerment of the girl child in Mangu local government.
Other notable guests included the wife of the ALGON Chairman of Plateau State, Mrs. Binta Anani, who graced the ceremony in solidarity with the First Lady of Mangu local government council.
