”When 2 Brothers Fight, Certainly An Invitation For Stranger To Inherit Their Inheritance” – Hon. Hitler Pwajok

Hon. Hitler Joshua Pwajok, The special adviser on youth mobilization and engagement to the Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has condemned with strong terms the recent inter-communal clashes which has injured people and destroyed property in villages that border Mikang and Langtang North Local Government Areas, stating that “When two brothers fight, it is certainly an invitation for a Stranger to inherit their Inheritance.”

Hon. Hitler Pwajok, through his social media handle expressed with sadness over the recent ugly incident that occurred between youths of Langtang North and Mikang LGAs that brought deep concern and excruciating pain in our hearts as a State.

The incident, according to the former youth Director General, happened at a time when Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, the executive governor of Plateau State, is actively promoting genuine forgiveness and reconciliation across the state without regard to a person’s tribe or religion. He is also planning a systemic youth mentorship and empowerment programme that will raise new breeds of patriotic and self-reliant youth who will only put “Plateau First.”

He said “This is highly condemnable and a major setback to the peace process already in top gear in the State.”

All youths in Mikang LGA and Langtang North are being urged by Hon. Pwajok to exercise restraint and reassess their current stances in the sake of maintaining peace and the state’s overall development.

He said that “Let’s make a frantic effort to forge a new course for us all and deviate from the enemies plan to cause disunity and self-destruction of our dear home; Plateau the Beautiful.”

“Together, the youths of Plateau can be an unstoppable train of Peace, Progress and Prosperity. For indeed, “The Time is Now” and together “We Can Achieve More.” He added.

Earlier on, Governor Caleb Mutfwang underscored the importance of dialogue as the most civilized and effective means of conflict resolution. He questioned the rationale behind individuals resorting to violence, taking the law into their own hands, and targeting innocent communities with arson.

The governor urged security services to act swiftly and to prosecute offenders and their backers to the fullest extent of the law. In order to stop the situation from getting worse, he also called for quick mobilisation to the impacted districts.

In order to promote a peaceful coexistence, Governor Mutfwang also urged important players from the impacted communities, as well as traditional, community, and religious leaders, to start a conversation and strive towards a peaceful settlement of the conflicts.

Governor Mutfwang reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to bringing about enduring peace throughout the state, saying he looks forward to a prosperous, peaceful Plateau where all residents, regardless of religion or ethnicity, support one another in a spirit of fraternity.
