You Are Shameless with No Integrity,” VeryDarkMan Slams Reno Omokri for Visiting Tinubu on Independence Day
Social media influencer Martin Vincent Otse, better known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has openly criticized Reno Omokri, a former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, following his visit to President Bola Tinubu on Nigeria’s Independence Day, October 1st. The controversy erupted after Omokri posted a picture on social media, showing himself with Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, accompanied by the caption: “Spending Independence Day with President Tinubu at the Presidential Villa. May God bless Nigeria.”
Omokri’s post was met with backlash from many Nigerians, who accused him of being a “sellout” and a “bootlicker,” given his previous harsh criticisms of President Tinubu. Adding his voice to the wave of disapproval, VeryDarkMan took to Instagram to condemn Omokri for what he described as a lack of integrity.
In his Instagram video, VeryDarkMan expressed disbelief at Omokri’s meeting with someone he had previously insulted and protested against. To reinforce his point, he played an old video of Omokri leading a protest against Tinubu during his visit to Chatham House in the UK, during the 2023 presidential campaign.
Addressing Omokri directly, VeryDarkMan said:
“Reno Omokri, what are you doing with someone you once called a drug lord? Do you want to learn how to sell drugs? I’m just curious, o; it’s none of my business!” He went further to accuse Omokri of lacking integrity, adding, “I know the people that you begged to meet Tinubu. Is that why you were attacking Obi? You can clearly see that you lack integrity.”
VDM also suggested that Omokri had been pleading with various individuals to arrange a meeting with President Tinubu, despite campaigning for Atiku Abubakar during the 2023 elections. He concluded by pointing out the inconsistency in Omokri’s actions, stating, “I know politics is a dirty game, but at least have some integrity.”
This social media feud has sparked wide attention, with many Nigerians joining the conversation to question Omokri’s shifting allegiances and political stance.
