Joint troops of the 3 Division of the Nigerian Army in conjunction with the Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH), have successfully neutralized two bandits and recovered sophisticated weapons in Qua’an Pan local government area of Plateau State.
Media Information Officer of Operation SAFE HAVEN, Major Samson Nantip Zhakom, who disclosed this in a statement, said the success recorded by the troops was in continuation of sustained offensive operations against criminal elements within the joint operations area, leading to the conducting a “deliberate intelligence-driven raid on 12 May, 2025, at a suspected bandits’ enclave located in Teng Mountain/Forest in the Qua’an Pan LGA.”
“During the operation, contact was established with the armed criminals. In the ensuing engagement, the troops employed superior firepower, resulting in the neutralisation of two bandits,” the OPSH spokesman said.
“A thorough exploitation of the area led to the recovery of the following items: one AK-47 rifle, one AK-47 magazine, one fabricated rifle capable of firing 7.62mm (Special) ammunition, and seven rounds of 7.62mm (Special) ammunition.

“Additional items recovered include four mobile phones, two motorcycles, and a cash sum of One Hundred and Fifty-Seven Thousand, Nine Hundred Naira (₦157,900.00) only.
“The recovered arms and ammunition are currently in secure custody. Furthermore, the recovered mobile devices are undergoing analysis to facilitate the identification and apprehension of other members of the criminal syndicate.
“The activities of these dangerous criminals will continue to be met with decisive and sustained military action.

“Our troops remain resolute in their mandate to deny criminal elements freedom of action in all areas of operation,” Major Zhakom added, reaffirming the commitment of Operation SAFE HAVEN to maintaining security in the region.
