Big Blunt Morgam Tok
BigBlunt Morgan Tok, whose real name is Tok Morgan is by a mile, one of the top On-Air Personality in Jos and his huge fan base cutting across every strata and gender, says it all.
BigBlunt who is fondly referred to as the ‘Berom Radio Demon’ by many of his admirers, is the super-duper Station Manager and Presenter with KT 103.9 FM, Jos.
He is one of the most sought after OAPs who has gone round some stations in the Tin City including Unity 93.3 Jos, Rhythm93.7 Rap Culture and Armed Forces Radio in Abuja before joining KT FM.
BigBlunt has cut a niche for himself, stamping his authority the broadcasting landscape with his versatility in presenting Political and Entertainment shows, His breakfast show “The Morning Edition” is one of the most followed shows on radio with listeners cutting across all works of life.
Zoe Machunga
Simply known as Zoe, the delectable anchor of the ‘The Morning Jay’ on Jay 101.9 FM is one of the sweetest voices to listen to in Jos, as she has a way of soothing her listeners and calming the most frayed nerves.
Zoe’s programme, ‘The Morning Jay’, is currently adjudged the radio talk show with the most listeners, with callers from all spheres of life and age grades.
Ponsah Fanap
Ponsah’s status as one of the topmost OAPs in took a quantum leap while co-anchoring the morning show, ‘Unity Train’, alongside Bello Lukman on Unity 93.3 FM, before he moved to 104.3 Tin City FM and later found himself at Jay 101.9 FM where he anchors an evening current affairs programme ‘Nigeria at Sunset’, which has grown to become one of the most popular programmes on radio, further shooting Ponsah’s ratings to high heavens.
Hudung Gyang
Hudung may be a veteran radio presenter in Plateau State and one of the old voices in the Jos broadcasting industry, but like they say, old wines tastes better, Hudung has continued to set the pace both on radio and on television.
She is unarguably the voice of Jos broadcasting as she managed to swerve from TV presentation in the 90s and effortlessly emerged on radio and today, is even more popular than she was while on TV.
Hudung became very popular when she co-anchored a morning show on Peace 90.5 FM known as ‘Top of the Morning” and a TV shout out show known as “From My Heart”.
As the Director of Programmes of the station, she anchors a range of current affairs programmes and “Greetings from America” on Peace 90.5 FM with a soothing voice to adore.
Samson Omale
Before the arrival of more radio stations in Jos, Samson Omale dominated the morning conversations on the current affairs programme ‘View Point’ on Rhythm 93.7 Jos.
Omale is presently the Head of News and co-anchor the very popular and listener-friendly programme, ‘The Morning Drive’.
Pedro Mobolaji
Pedro Mobolaji, popularly known simply as Pedro, started with Rhythm FM Jos, where he handled the ‘Afternoon Show’ with so much energy and a unique voice on radio.
He is an exceptional presenter and the Station Manager of Jay 101.9 FM, Jos, and is the anchor of the afternoon show, ‘Pedro and The Happy Gang’.
Peace Elimimian
If you ask radio listeners in Jos and environs who Peace Elimimian is, many would not know her but mention the name Brown Shuga, and everyone will tell you that she is the one of the most popular voices on radio in the Tin City.
Brown Shuga is probably the most recent broadcaster in the industry, but this native of Edo State who came to Jos for her NYSC, reluctantly gave a try to the broadcasting business after much persuasion from friends who saw her great gift and today, her name is on the lips of many listeners as they enjoy her cheery and crispy voice delivery.
She is the voice behind the ‘KT Lounge’ and co-anchor of ‘The Brunch to Lunch Show’ on KT 103.9 FM, Jos.
David Onimisi
Popularly called David King the Talkertainer, David Onimisi is another OAP that is well known in the city of Jos.
He started with sports presentation on Rhythm FM, Jos, before he took over the ‘The Morning Drive,’ where he runs the comic show ‘Know Wetin Dey,’ alongside a host of other comedians every Friday.
Elizabeth Sati
Any list of top OAPs in Jos will not be complete without the mention of Elizabeth Sati, popularly known as ‘Lizzy the Radio Goddess.’
Elizabeth is the popular female voice on Rhythm 93.7, Jos, who has the soothing voice capable of sending her listeners into frenzy.
A trained architect, Lizzy has paid he dues, enough to be celebrated in the broadcasting business on the Plateau.
She started with anchoring ‘Rhythm and Soul,’ before she moved to co-anchor the ‘Morning Drive’ with Samson Omale.
Bello Lukman
It will be a disservice if Bello Lukman does not make the list. In fact, his fans will not forgive us if we failed to include the ‘Radio Jagaban,’ as he is fondly called, in the list of the top OAPs in Jos.
Lukman has a presentation style that is unique, accompanied by a grammatical arsenal only he can come up with.
Lukman is the anchor the morning show ‘Unity Train’ and ‘Look Out’ on Unity 93.3 FM, Jos.
