Sen. Simon Mwadkwon Lauds Appointment of New Heads of Plateau Higher Institutions, Says Education Key to Nation Building

Former Senate Minority Leader, Sen. Simon Mwadkwon PhD has commended the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang for appointing credible and visionary Personalities to pilot the affairs of the State’s Higher Institutions, describing the decision as step in the right direction. 

Sen. Mwadkwon disclosed that the Choice of Prof. Shadrack Best for Plateau State University (PLASU) Bokkos, Assoc. Prof. Lazarus Maigoro to head the College of Education Gindiri, Dr. Jonathan Bulus to oversee the College of Health Technology Zawan, Dr. Markus Avong to superintend the College of Health Technology Pankshin and Dr. Clement Chirman as the Rector of Plateau State Polytechnic Barkin Ladi are timely and apt to bring about the needed turnaround in the education system in the State.

He charged those appointed to bring to bear their wealth of experience, skills, expertise and professionalism to take the State’s Higher Institutions to enviable heights. He said education is critical to sustainable development, Nation building and the need for Technocrats who would improve it cannot be overemphasized.

According to the Senator, “The Governor was meticulous in his choices of those appointed seeing that they are reputable personalities who would add value to the State. Those appointed are round pegs in round holes and I am confident that they would transform the institutions they are appointed to oversee and build capacities of students and staff therein. I urge them not to disappoint the trust and confidence reposed in them by the appointing authority, but justify same with optimal performance”

While commending the Governor for making the right choices, he prayed God to grant them the needed capacity and wherewithal to perform exceptionally.
