Rt. Hon. Fom Gwottson Supports Farmers In Own Hometown With 1,000 Bags Of Golden Fertilizer

Rt. Hon. Gwottson Dalyop Fom, the former Deputy Speaker of the 10th Assembly of Plateau state, has distributed over 1,000 bags of 25kg golden fertilizer to farmers across the 67 hamlets of Kuru District, his hometown. This gesture aims to support farmers in boosting crop growth and increasing yields.

Gwottson acknowledged that agriculture is a significant source of livelihood in Kuru and decided to step in due to the high cost of commodities in the market. He emphasized that his motivation for the philanthropic work he does stems from his personal experiences with poverty and lack right from childhood, as well as the struggles of his people.

While performing the symbolic presentation of the fertilizer to the Kuru Traditional Council, the TIC Chairman of Jos South LGA, Hon. Peter Vwang Dung, praised Gwottson for his remarkable leadership and sensitivity to the needs of the community. He urged the beneficiaries to use the fertilizer wisely and not sell it.

Rt. Hon Moses Sule, the former Speaker, commended Gwottson for his contributions during their time in office and encouraged the populace to use the fertilizer for its intended purpose.

Hon. Ishaku Maren, former Majority leader, described Gwottson as an exceptional leader who has made a positive impact even among his pairs at the 10th Assembly, adding that despite the short notice, 11 out of the 16 displaced member came out to grace the event in appreciation and support of Gwottson.

The acting Gbong Gwom Kuru, Dagwom Kushe – Da Pius Jugu, acknowledged Gwottson’s philanthropic gestures over the years and showered prayers on him.

Da. Bulus Kwis, the Damanjei Rorian, representing the beneficiaries, expressed gratitude for the support, which they say came at a critical time. He showered prayers of blessings on him. “I hope your pairs will take note and emulate such kind gestures of yours for the growth and development of our people,” he added.

Notable figures present at the occasion included Da Prof. Pam & Ngo Chundung Sha, leaders of the 67 hamlets, Acting PDP Chairman of Jos South LGA, Mr. Bon Simon Dung, other PDP excos, stakeholders, and supporters.

The event took place at GSS Kanadap Kuru on Tuesday, July 9th, 2024.
