Quack Doctor Arrested For Allegedly Harvesting Woman’s Kidney

Alhaji Kamal, A businessman  from  Jos, Plateau  state,  accused a  doctor of  removing  one of his  wife’s  kidneys and causing her to suffer chronic pain for the past five years.

He  said  that  in 2018, his  wife  Kehinde complained of abdominal   pain and she was taken to the  aforementioned  doctor’s  clinic in the Nasarawa Gwong area of  ​​Jos  North local government  area, Plateau state where he diagnosed  his wife and concluded that she had  appendicitis. He disclosed that the appendicitis was  ruptured and  required  urgent surgery.

Speaking  by  phone  to  reporters  on Wednesday night, Kamal, a resident of the Rikkos  neighborhood   in  Jos North, said:  “About eight years ago, my mum was sick so she was directed and she visited a hospital owned by one Dr. Noah Kekere at Yanshanu, Nasarawa Gwong community of Jos North local government area and in the process of going to the see my mum in the hospital, I got acquainted with the doctor.

“In 2018, when my wife fell ill complaining of severe stomach pain, my mother encouraged us to take her there because my wife often   accompanied her to the doctor when  she was sick. When we arrived the doctor did a scan and said my wife had a ruptured appendix and  needed  immediate surgery and he charged us N140,000. When I called  several people to ask about the high bill as I  was  about  to take my wife to JUTH, they advised  me to  go ahead and save her life.

“The doctor asked  me  how much  and I said  N80,000  aside bills for other  drug costs  but after the  surgery, my wife still complained   of  pain and the man  continued  to   collect  my  money for all these years. The day the doctor  performed  the operation, he started the operation from 12  noon  to 8 pm and for 5 years my wife  complained  of severe  abdominal pain. I kept   taking her to the same hospital because I didn’t want to change the doctor  who  started the  surgery.  treatment. As she continued to  be   in pain,  I decided to go to  Jos University  Hospital, JUTH a few days ago  and  we  learned  that  my  wife’s   kidney   had   been  removed.

“We reported the  incident  to  Nasarawa Gwong  police  and the doctor was arrested two days ago.

This morning,  the case was transferred to the Commissioner of police.  The Commissioner discovered that the man had never been a doctor but  had  claimed   to   be  a doctor for over 18  years,  treating people in the area. He  holds  a  Bachelor of  Economics and a  Master of  Economics. He attended  nursing school but  did not complete it. He said he  was  studying  Community  health.
