Hon. Adamu Aliyu, a member of the Plateau State House of Assembly, has criticised the rejection of Hausa and Fulani applicants from Jos North Local Government Area in the state police command’s ongoing recruiting exercise.
Hon. Aliyu protested at the state police command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) office in response to news that some of his constituency’s candidates had been rejected by some screening officers.
Speaking to journalists at the police headquarters where he proceeded to report on the incident, the congressman described the scenario as “deliberate discrimination and denial of fundamental rights of his people.”
Hon Aliyu stated that all lawful efforts would be taken to ensure that eligible adolescents who wanted to join the police and support the nation’s security situation were given the opportunity to do so.
