Police arrests pastor behind child trafficking syndicate in Plateau

The Nigeria Police Force has arrested a pastor behind a child trafficking syndicate operating in the Bukuru area of Plateau State.

Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi who disclosed this in a statement, said a covert operation by the police led to the arrest of Pastor Dayo Bernard, who is the founder and General Overseer of the End Time Army Ministry in Bukuru, who is the alleged ringleader of the syndicate, and several accomplices.

Other accomplices arrested by the police include Rita Agboeze, Victoria Ugwu, Nanman Puntel, and Peter Ukwuani

ACP Adejobi said during the operation, five children aged between two and four years, who had been abducted from various homes in the state were rescued.

“The principal suspect, Pastor Dayo Bernard, confessed to abducting and selling 13 children at different prices. The rescued children have been reunited with their families through the Plateau State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development,” the police spokesman said.

He added that the police has vowed to intensify efforts to combat child trafficking and ensure the prosecution of all those involved in such heinous crimes, while reaffirming the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to intensify its crackdown on criminal activities and recover illegal arms and ammunition.
