Plateau State University Unveils Campus Beautification Plan to Enhance Learning Experience

In a bid to create a conducive learning environment and enhance its public image, Plateau State University Bokkos has launched an unprecedented campus beautification project. The initiative, unveiled by Acting Vice Chancellor Prof. Shedrack Best on October 25, aims to boost the university’s reputation and foster partnerships.

The project includes the installation of a new signage at the university’s entrance, a renovated gatehouse, and a revamped justice symbol statue.

Prof. Best emphasized the importance of a visually appealing campus, stating, “The university is a hub of knowledge and intellectuals, and its physical appearance should reflect that.”

Upon assuming office in February, Prof. Best recognized the need for a quick beautification plan to remove obstructions and enhance the university’s corporate identity.

In addition to a mass afforestation and weed removal project, Best initiated the remodeling of the university’s gatehouse, the painting of the gate and surrounding fence as well as the construction of a superimposing signage at the entrance.

Commissioning the projects on October 25, Prof. Best revealed plans for a comprehensive overhaul of the university gate to reflect a modern-day university.

The newly rebuilt statue of Justicia, now one of the largest in Nigeria, stands tall at the law faculty’s entrance, serving as a reminder of the principles of justice.

Prof. Best expressed gratitude to the university’s management for their unwavering support and acknowledged the efforts of the university’s employees in executing the projects.
