The Director of the Plateau State directorate of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mrs. Kaneng Tabatha Pam-Hworo on Thursday, sent her heartfelt felicitations to Plateau indigenes and Nigerians in general on the occasion of the 2025 Democracy Day.
In the message, the state NOA Director praised the sacrificial spirit of Nigerians and called on all to uphold the spirit of resilience, discipline and accountability.
The warm message from Mrs. Pam-Hworo reads:
“On this historic day, as we commemorate Nigeria’s Democracy Day, I join all Nigerians in honoring the profound sacrifices made by countless heroes and heroines of Democracy in Nigeria. Their unwavering commitment to justice and freedom truly laid the foundation for our democratic journey.
“This year’s celebration resonates deeply with us here in Plateau State, where we champion the “7 For 7” National Values Charter.
“These values which includes Equality, Democracy, Entrepreneurship, Peace & Security, Inclusivity, Freedom & Justice, and Meritocracy. are the pillars of our collective progress.
“To Our Leaders: Democracy thrives when governance is rooted in accountability, transparency, and service. We truly commend Plateau State’s recent strides. Let’s keep prioritizing policies that foster unity, equity, and sustainable development.
“To the Youth: You are absolutely the torch-bearers of our democracy! Embrace your role as active participants—not just voters, but also passionate advocates for good governance. As INEC rightly notes, your demographic strength (70% of voters!) positions you to shape Nigeria’s future. Please, reject apathy and social vices; instead, channel your incredible energy into nation-building.
“To All Citizens: Democracy is a shared responsibility, plain and simple. The NOA urges you to: Uphold the Citizen’s Code of Discipline, Accountability, and Resilience.
Promote dialogue over division, echoing Plateau’s rich cultural diversity as a true strength.
Reject violence and misinformation, which really threatens our democratic fabric.
“As we celebrate, let’s always remember: Democracy is not a spectator sport. It demands our vigilance, our active participation, and our unwavering commitment to the rule of law.
“Happy Democracy Day 2025! Long live Plateau State! Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria!’
