Plateau Reps Caucus visits Gov. Mutfwang over insecurity, donates cash support to victims of crisis

The Caucus which was led by Rt. Hon. Ahmed Idris Wase, former Deputy Speaker and representative of Wase Federal Constituency, expressed sadness and concern over the attacks on innocent citizens

Members of the House of Representatives from Plateau State on Wednesday, paid a condolence visit to Governor Caleb Mutfwang at the new Government House, Little Rayfield, Jos, following the recent attacks and killings in Bokkos, Bassa, and Riyom Local Government Areas of the State.

The Caucus which was led by Rt. Hon. Ahmed Idris Wase, former Deputy Speaker and representative of Wase Federal Constituency, expressed sadness and concern over the attacks on innocent citizens, pledging to collaborate with the Governor to end insecurity in the State and called on all stakeholders to join efforts.

The delegation had Rt. Hon. Ahmed Idris Wase, CON, Wase, Hon. John Dafaan, Mikang/Shendam/Qua’an-Pan, Hon. Fom Dalyop, Barkin Ladi/Riyom, Hon. Vincent Venman Langtang North/South , Hon. Ajang Iliya, Jos South/East and Hon. Daniel Asama, Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituencies.

While condolling with the Governor, victims and the entire people of the state, the lawmakers charged the security agencies to live up to their duties and protect the citizens and ensure anyone found culpable is made to face the full wrath of the law.

The delegation also presented N50 million relief support to Plateau State Government for the victims of the attacks, and announced additional N50 million to be given directly to the affected communities, with Bokkos Local Government getting N20 million, Bassa Local Government, N20 million and Riyom Local Government N10 million.

Receiving the lawmakers, Governor Mutfwang expressed deep appreciation to the Speaker and lawmakers for their support and sacrifice, acknowledging their efforts in representing Plateau State’s interests.

He emphasized the importance of continued partnership among leaders and also assured that the support received would not be misapplied.

“On behalf of the Government and people of Plateau State, we are grateful to Mr. Speaker for his show of love and to all of you our representatives, for pushing forward our cries.

“We thank you and We’ll let the people know that their representatives are doing everything possible to make life better for them.”
