The Plateau PDP Patriotic Frontiers (PPF) has reacted to a desperate attempt by Valentine Adese, the publisher of Reality Newspaper and a known ‘Ambassador’ for the All Progressives Congress (APC), to discredit Governor Caleb Mutfwang’s Commissioners with a series of orchestrated lies and unfounded falsehoods.
In a statement issued on Monday by the PPF, the body lambasted Adese and the Publicity Secretary of the APC in the state, Shittu Bamaiyi over the consistent spread of misinformation and half-truths they keep churning out as well as their planted and ghost responders on the radio and social media to spin out tales.
The PPF frowned at the APC’s fruitless attempts at consistent criticism of government policies, allegedly sponsored by the opposition party, raises questions about their objectivity.
“As members of the Plateau People’s Democratic Party Patriotic Frontiers (PPF), we won’t ignore the APC’s orchestrated efforts through their ambassador, who uses planted callers and ghost responders to spread misinformation,” the statement said.
‘Valentine Adese, following Shittu Bamayi’s footsteps, is now promoting the opposition on radio and social media, raising questions about potential ties to Lalong, Maje, Gagdi, and Diket.
“Valentine Adese (JP) and Abraham Agaldo’s credibility as journalists has been compromised due to their blatant bias towards the All Progressive Congress (APC) on the Plateau.
“Their consistent criticism of government policies, allegedly sponsored by the opposition party, raises questions about their objectivity.
“Furthermore, the APC’S Ambassador Valentine’s claim that callers supporting his views are genuine, while opposing callers are ‘ghost callers,’ is a clear indication of his attempts to manipulate public opinion. This kind of behavior is unethical and undermines the principles of journalism.
“It’s also worth noting that Valentine’s role as the APC’s unofficial spokesperson, with Abraham Agaldo as his supportive ally, creates a clear conflict of interest.
“Their allegiance to the APC compromises their ability to report objectively, and their actions can be seen as a form of propaganda rather than journalism.
“In light of these facts, it’s essential to view their calls for Governor Caleb Mutfwang to rejig his cabinet with skepticism.
“Rather than making unsubstantiated claims, they should focus on providing balanced and factual reporting that allows the public to make informed decisions.
“It was a deliberate act to highlight the underperformance of a few commissioners among the majority.
“Notably, the Commissioners of Agriculture, Works, Commerce, Local Government, and Chieftaincy Affairs have been largely absent.
“Ambassador Valentine, who was pushed to select names from the APC’s list, has been wrongly and intentionally criticizing the government indirectly.
“The Governor is well aware of the APC’s tactics and hidden agenda to undermine the performance of the aforementioned Commissioners.
“In reality, the APC-affiliated commissioners are the ones hindering progress and obstructing the path to 2027.
“Valentine, on the other hand, is a master of deception, disguising himself as a concerned citizen while actually sowing discord where none exists.
“If there are other positions suitable for these commissioners, the APC’s Ambassador Valentine and his cohorts, who are making baseless claims against the workaholic commissioners, will not succeed in their plans.
“Leaving these commissioners in their current positions will ultimately lead to the APC’s downfall in 2027.
“Among the hardworking commissioners, the one overseeing Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs stands out with the highest rating. This commissioner’s influence spans over 10 Local Government Areas out of 17, a notable achievement considering the limited time to assess performance.
“It’s surprising that Ambassador Valentine from the APC fails to grasp the concept of stagnant ministries lacking innovative ideas. He deliberately ignores the tangible accomplishments visible across the Local Government Areas, which speak to the commissioner’s effectiveness.
“Valentine’s selective blindness to progress undermines his credibility, suggesting that his criticism is driven by political bias rather than a genuine desire for improvement.
“The APC’s Ambassador Valentine’s message is not difficult to decipher.
“The APC aims to discredit and dislodge specific commissioners, including Hon. Adams Bulus Leshak from Bokkos (Works), Hon. Bugama Samson Ishaku from Kanke (Agriculture), Hon. Sule Musa Haruna from Bassa (Commerce), and Hon. Chief Ephraim Usman from Kanam (Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs).
“These Commissioners have been targeted due to their outstanding performance, particularly Chief Ephraim Usman, who has faced repeated attacks from the opposition.
“The APC’s strategy is to create an advantage in the Plateau Central zone, specifically in Bokkos, Kanke, and Kanam, to pave the way for Senator Diket Plang.
“By discrediting Chief Ephraim Usman and Hon. Bugama Samson Ishaku, the APC hopes to secure a free slot for Rt. Hon. Babayo Yusuf Adamu Gagdi as the Federal Representative of Pankshin, Kanke, and Kanam, as he has never won in Pankshin.
“Furthermore, the APC plans to use the commissioners from Jos-South and Bassa LGA as pawns in their game, leveraging Ambassador Valentine as their tool to spread misinformation and discredit the PDP-led government.
“Governor Caleb Mutfwang, known for his astute leadership and ability to distinguish between genuine supporters and detractors, will not be swayed by the opposition’s cheap tactics.
“The APC’s puppet, Valentine, a journalist aligned with the APC, is working in tandem with Shittu Bamayi to spread misinformation and distract from real issues.
“Our governor has a clear understanding of the APC’s political maneuvers, particularly their interests in Plateau Central, Plateau Northern zone, and the Pankshin Kanke and Kanam Federal Constituency. He remains focused on delivering his ‘Time is Now’ agenda, undeterred by the opposition’s attempts to undermine his efforts.
“We, the Plateau People’s Democratic Party Patriotic Frontiers, will continue to expose the opposition’s schemes and tactics, despite their attempts to manipulate public opinion through their puppets Valentine Adese. We remain committed to the progress and development of Plateau State.
