OPSH raid hideouts in Kaduna, arrest gunrunners, recover weapons

Troops of the Operation Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH) have made a major breakthrough in the fight against arms trafficking with the arrest of arrested three notorious gunrunners in Golgokfa Village, Godogodo Chiefdom, Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Confirming the arrest of the suspects in a statement, Major Samson Nantip Zhakom, the Media Information Officer of Operation SAFE HAVEN said the operation, which was based on actionable intelligence, was carried out on May 8.

Major said during the raid, the troops successfully apprehended a 65-year-old man, Adamu Musa, Lukman Isah, 35-year-old and 25-year-old Umar Jammo.

According to the OPSH spokesman, sophisticated weapons were recovered from the suspects including one AK-47 rifle, a fabricated firearm, one AK-47 magazine, a single round of 7.62mm (Special) ammunition, and three motorcycles believed to be used in criminal operations.

He added that the suspects are currently in custody and have begun providing valuable intelligence to aid further investigations and operations.

Operation SAFE HAVEN remains committed to leveraging public support and intelligence to dismantle criminal networks and enhance security across the region.

“The latest operation highlights ongoing efforts by security forces to curb the proliferation of illegal arms and restore peace in Kaduna and surrounding states,” Maj. Zhakom said.
