Nigerian Army Announces Annual Range Classification Exercise in Bassa LGA

The Headquarters 3 Division of the Nigerian Army has announced that it will be conducting its First Schedule Annual Range Classification Exercise from Monday, March 17, to Friday, March 28, 2025. The exercise, a key part of the military’s training program, is designed to test and improve the shooting accuracy and overall combat readiness of the officers and soldiers in the Division.

The exercise, which will involve the use of live ammunition, is aimed at ensuring that all personnel maintain the highest standards of proficiency required in the Nigerian Army. The event will take place in Miango, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State, and the public has been urged to stay clear of the area during the exercise period.

HQ 3 Division has also advised residents not to panic if they hear the sound of gunfire during the designated days, as it is part of the controlled activities scheduled for the exercise. The military assured the public that all necessary safety measures have been put in place.

In a statement, Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, Acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations for the 3rd Division, emphasized the importance of public awareness. He called on media outlets to disseminate the information widely and encouraged translations into local languages to ensure that all community members are informed.

“We appreciate the cooperation and support of the public in promoting safety and maintaining calm during this period,” the statement read.

The Army also reassured the public of their continued commitment to upholding security and professionalism in all their operations.
