Alphonsus Komsol, a former House of Representatives member, has urged President Bola Tinubu to replace former Minister of Labour and Employment Simon Lalong with a new minister from the Plateau Central Senatorial Zone for equity.
Komsol made the request in an open letter to the president on Sunday, following Lalong’s departure on Wednesday.
He stated that his recommendation stems from the president’s urgent need to address numerous concerns in Plateau State concerning inclusion, geopolitics, ethnic balance, equity, and fairness.
Komsol formerly served as Secretary of the Presidential Campaign Council’s North-Central Zone Contact and Mobilisation Committee, Plateau Coordinator of the Independent Campaign Council for Asiwaju, and Member of the APC’s Election Planning and Strategic Committee.
A choice, according to the APC chairman, will determine the party’s success in Plateau.
“The reason for my selfless suggestion is not far-fetched: It is noteworthy that Lalong is from Plateau South Senatorial Zone, which has produced six ministers since 1999.”
