The Executive Chairman of Mangu Local Government, Hon. Emmanuel Bala Mwolpun, has reaffirmed his administration’s unrelenting commitment to restoring peace in Mangu.
Mwolpun who stated this when he received the Plateau State Peace Building Agency on a courtesy visit to his office in Mangu, expressed his appreciation for the Agency’s visit and promised an enduring partnership with the agency to sustain peace in the council.
In a statement issued on his behalf by his Director of Press and Publicity, Jeremiah Dakahap, the Chairman stated that with the partnership, the security challenges facing Mangu would soon be a thing of the past.
“I am confident that with the support of the Plateau State Peace Building Agency, we can overcome the current challenges facing our local government and restore peace to our communities,” he said.
“The Executive Chairman also emphasized the need for collective effort in achieving peace, saying ‘we must work together as a people, regardless of our differences, to build a more peaceful and harmonious society. I pledge my commitment to this cause and look forward to a successful partnership with the Agency.”
According to the Director of Administration, Mr. Elkanah Izam, Director of Strategic Communications, Mr Keneth Dakop and Director of Programmes, Nantip Joseph, who represented the Director General of the Agency, Dr Julie Sambo:
“Our visit to Mangu Local Government is aimed at devising means of achieving peace in the communities. We are here to explore avenues of collaboration with the local government and identify areas of need.”
They added that “We believe that by working together, we can develop effective solutions to address the root causes of conflict and promote sustainable peace in Mangu.”
The Directors said the Agency is committed to supporting the local government in its efforts to restore peace and stability, and we look forward to a fruitful partnership.
