Mangu LG Chairman honours fallen heroes, seeks support of Nigerian Legion

Mwolpun made this appeal during the Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebration at the council's secretariat in Mangu

The Executive Chairman of Mangu Local Government, Hon. Emmanuel Bala Mwolpun, has called on the Nigerian Legion to lend their expertise in addressing the prevailing security challenges in the local government.

Mwolpun who made this appeal during the Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebration at the council’s secretariat in Mangu, acknowledged the bravery, commitment and selfless service of Nigeria’s fallen heroes.

In a statement issued on Thursday by the Director of Press and Publicity to the Chairman, Jeremiah Dakahap, “Hon. Mwolpun expressed his administration’s commitment to supporting the military and families of the fallen heroes, ensuring the safety and well-being of all citizens and residents in the area.”

“He praised the fallen heroes for their gallantry in protecting Nigeria’s sovereignty, promoting peace, unity and hope.

“The Chairman commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang for their determination and courage in combating terrorism in the country.

“He urged citizens to unite in their collective resolve to sustain the relative peace achieved by the present administration in the state and the country.

“Rtd. Major (CNC) Joseph Mangtit, Chairman of the Nigerian Legion, Mangu local government area, appreciated Hon. Mwolpun for his support. He welcomed the chairman’s promise to complete the Mangu Secretariat of the Nigerian Legion, which has been stagnant for years, and assured him of the Legion’s continued support to his administration.

“As a mark of respect, Hon. Mwolpun honored the fallen heroes through the laying of wreath at the Council’s Secretariat. He was joined by other dignitaries, including the Deputy Chairman, the Leader of the Legislative Arm, and His Royal Highness, the Mishkaham Mwaghavul, among others.”
