Kanam LGC Chairman rewards academic excellence as International College of Languages students receive registration fees

The college was declared the winner among 10 pilot schools in Plateau State.

The Executive Chairman of Kanam Local Government Council, Hon. Salihu Ayuba Musa, hit another enviable milestone when he recently received students and staff from International College of Languages, Dengi, located in Gamu Ga Dengi, Kanam LGA.

According to the Director of Media and Publicity to the Executive Chairman, Ibrahim Yusuf Dembo, the students who had participated in a drama and poetry competition organized by the French Embassy in Jos on February 11, 2025, and emerged as winners, taking home a trophy, were handsomely rewarded by Hon. Musa with their SSCE registration fees.

“Notably, the college had previously excelled in physics competitions, securing second place five years ago,” Dembo said in the statement.

“The winning team consisted of 15 students, who were among the top contestants. The college was declared the winner among 10 pilot schools in Plateau State.

“Established 15 years ago, International College of Languages has consistently demonstrated academic excellence.

“During the visit, the Executive Chairman, known for his passion for education, asked the students how he could reward them as a father figure.

“An SSS 3 student, Hauwa Musa Bello, respectfully requested that the Chairman pay for their Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) registration fees.

‘Hon. Salihu Ayuba Musa, an iconic figure in education, graciously awarded the students with SSCE registration fees.

“The beneficiaries included students from JSS 2 to SSS 3, with two SSS 3 students, Abubakar Saidu Adamu and Hauwa Musa Bello, receiving automatic payment for their examination fees.

“The Chairman blessed each student by name and offered prayers for their success in their educational pursuits. He assured them that their SSCE registration fees would be covered by him.”

The 15 students from International College of Languages, Dengi, who emerged victorious in the drama and poetry competition, have received an exceptional reward.

“Hon. Salihu Ayuba Musa, the Executive Chairman of Kanam Local Government Council, has graciously awarded them automatic registration for the Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE).
