The achievements of the Executive Chairman of Kanam Local Government Council, Hon. Salihu Ayuba Musa, was once again recognized as he was bestowed with another prestigious award by the Inter-Religious Youth Affairs for Peace and Unity (IRYAFPU).
According to a statement signed on Friday by the Director of Media & Publicity to the Executive Chairman, Ibrahim Yusuf Dembo, Hon. Musa was recognized for his outstanding contributions to peace and unity in the region with the IRYAFPU Outstanding Personality of the Year Award 2025.
The award was presented to the Chairman by a four-man delegation from the IRYAFPU led by Amb. Muhammad Taofeeq, the Plateau State coordinator.
The IRYAFPU is an establishment set up to bridge divides, promote dialogue, and build lasting peace in communities.
The organization also aims to create a shared platform for addressing the challenges of unity and progress in society.
“Hon. Salihu Ayuba Musa was acknowledged for serving as a beacon of hope in a region that has faced formidable security challenges, and for his steadfast commitment to peace-building in Kanam LGA,” the statement said.
“The Peace Ambassadorial Award is not only a celebration of the Chairman’s achievements but also a call to continue inspiring others to join the cause of peace and democratic harmony.
“In response to the award, Hon. Salihu Ayuba Musa expressed his heartfelt gratitude and emphasized his administration’s commitment to fostering a harmonious work environment, where both Muslims and Christians work together in unity.
“He believes this mixed-staffing approach is the will of Almighty God. He also thanked Almighty God for entrusting him with the mandate to lead both Christians and Muslims in Kanam LGA.
“He reiterated his respect for humanity above all and his commitment to promoting peace, love, and unity in Kanam LGA.
“Finally, he wished the delegation a safe trip back to their respective destinations and assured them that his door is open to such wonderful organized setups,” Dembo said.
