Monday, January 20, 2025, was a day filled with excitement and promise, the Kanam Local Government Area which witnessed the commissioning of the Bakin Kasuwa Central Primary School, Namaran.
This significant milestone was achieved under the leadership of Hon. Salihu Ayuba Musa, Executive Chairman of Kanam Local Government Council.
The epoch making event drew an impressive array of dignitaries, including the Executive Chairmen of other councils: Hon. Dr. Kemi Nicholas Nshe (Shendam), Hon. Amalau Samuel Amalau (Bokkos), Hon. Lapching Ezekiel Golime (Kanke) and Hajiya Khdijah Salihu Ayuba Musa (wife of the Executive Chairman of Kanam LGC).
Other dignitaries who grace the occasion were Mr Yohanna Bawa, the National President of Bogghom Development Association (BDA), Hon. Chief Ephraim Usman, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Plateau State, who representing the Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly.
Among the notable PDP Kanam stakeholders in attendance were Hon. Abbas Makwakass Wokdung, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Environment, Hon. Haliru Shuaibu, Chairman of the PDP, Mrs. Sarah Sukumkya, Kanam Education Secretary, Hon. Solome Madaki, Council Secretary, Hon. Aliyu S. Aliyu, Deputy Chairman, Kanam LGC, Leader of the Legislative Arm of the Kanam LGC, Rt. Hon. Samson Duba Allah Yafi.
In a statement issued by the Director of Media and Publicity to the Executive Chairman of Kanam LGA, Ibrahim Yusuf Dembo, the stakeholders played a crucial role in the event, representing the PDP’s interests and commitment to the community’s development.
“His Royal Highness, Alh. Dr. Muazu Mohamad Muazu II, the Emir of Kanam, was joined by other traditional rulers, who also graced the occasion with their esteemed presence,” Dembo said.
“The event commenced with a visit to the palace of Pankwal Bogghom, where the paramount leader received the Emir of Kanam and the Executive Council Chairmen of Kanam, Shendam, Bokkos and Kanam.
“The ceremony then proceeded to the Bakin Kasuwa Central Primary School Namaran, where Hon. Chief Ephraim Usman commissioned the project.
