Transition Committee Chairman of Riyom Local Government Sati Shuwa has commended the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) for approving the reinstatement of the JAMB Centre in the Locality.
This is to enable candidates participate in the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination ,UTME accreditation exercise.
The Chairman made the commendation while inspecting facilities lacking at the JAMB/ICT Multipurpose Centre in Riyom.
It would be recalled that the JAMB Centre in Riyom which can conduct Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination for over 280 candidates per sitting was among the six closed in the Country in 2019 for lack of facilities.
Sati Shuwa while inspecting the Computer Based Test Centre assured the Board of his administration’s readiness to provide the place with all the required facilities to meet the expected standard.
The Transition Chairman explained that the administration engaged the services of the Grade Vision Health Systems Limited to handle the project and noted that the Centre when equipped with modern facilities would compliment the effort of the Council in repositioning the education sector in the area.
The Transition Chairman promised to give premium to education noting that it is the bedrock for any meaningful development.
Sati Shuwa disclosed that his administration has directed the procurement of one hundred and fifty Computers to replace those stolen as he promised to give the Centre a befitting outlook.
The Chairman called on the people of the area to continue to support the leader of the Time is Now administration, Governor Caleb Mutfwang to enable him to give his best to the citizens of the State.
The JAMB Multipurpose Centre was initiated by the administration of Mafeng Gwallson and commissioned in 2016 by the former Governor of Plateau State Barrister Simon Lalong.
Technical Officer handling the project Sule Ahija after inspecting the facilities in the Centre promised to give the JAMB Multipurpose Centre the best to enable it to compete with others in the Country.
