INEC Records High Turnout in Plateau Continuous Voter Registration

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has reported an impressive turnout of eligible residents in Plateau State for the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR).

The Electoral Officer of Jos North LGA, Abubakar Abdullahi, made this known on Tuesday in Jos, describing the exercise as smooth and well-organized. He explained that the registration covers fresh voters, transfers, corrections, and replacement of lost cards, with encouraging participation across all 17 LGAs of the state.

Abdullahi noted that INEC has upgraded its devices to make the process faster and more reliable, adding that provisions have been made to address any network or technical issues.

Some residents also commended the commission. A registrant, Jolene Sati, praised the professionalism of INEC staff, saying she completed her transfer and corrections in less than 20 minutes. She described the exercise as orderly and transparent, reflecting progress towards credible elections in Nigeria.

Reports from INEC’s state headquarters in Jos and Jos South also confirmed that the turnout remains impressive.
