IDPs killed by alleged fulani herders in benue

According to reports, three displaced people in the Agagbe camps in Benue State’s Gwer West Local Government Area were slain by suspected herdsmen in their farms.

The victims were Kusa Amos, 50, of the Tse-Utor Mbachohon council ward, Ortom Chiater, 25, and Targule Sechivir, 30, of the Tse-Jabi, Sengev council.

According to reports, the victims were uprooted after alleged herders attacked their communities in 2020, 2021, and 2022, respectively, and have since sought sanctuary in Agagbe camps.

According to information obtained by our journalist, the victims were attacked and killed on September 20, 2023, at their fields.

The victims’ bones were discovered in their farms after hours of waiting for their return to the camp, according to Terna Jacob, the camp chairman, who confirmed the killing.
