The Plateau State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Chief Ephraim Usman, on Sunday night, bagged the Commissioner of the Year diadem at the 10th Plateau Man of the Year 2024 held at the Crispan Hotel and Suites, Jos.
The 10th edition of the prestigious award ceremony tagged the ‘Legendary Edition’, drew the creme de la creme of the society cutting across government, business and the entertainment world, and was witnessed by a multitude of dignitaries from various government positions.
According to the organizers of the event, the yearly award is aimed at “encouraging recipients to redouble their efforts in pursuing futuristic endeavors, while also motivating those who have yet to make their mark, with the promise that the prestigious award could be theirs next year.”
While presenting the award to Hon. Usman, the organizers said he was recognized as the Best Commissioner of the Year 2024 due to his efforts in empowering local governments, strengthening traditional institutions, and enhancing community growth have not gone unnoticed.
“In recognition of your exceptional leadership and dedication to grassroots development as Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, your visionary policies have empowered local governments, strengthened traditional institutions, and enhanced community growth. Through impactful initiatives, you have set a new standard for governance, fostering stability and progress,” the citation read.
Also in attendance at the glamorous ceremony was the Executive Chairman of Kanam Local Government Council, Hon. Salihu Ayuba Musa, alongside his wife, the Kanam First Lady, who turned up to show their support for Chief Usman.
The Council Deputy Chairman, Hon. Aliyu S. Aliyu, was at the event to demonstrate his overwhelming support for his political mentor, Chief Ephraim Usman, who was ably supported by his wife, Mrs. Grace Usman, and their two children, Hanniel & Uriel.
