Gunmen kill 28-year-old man in fresh attack in Barkin Ladi

Gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen have killed a 28-year-old man identified as Gyang Samson, in a fresh attack in the Kan-Zot Foron community in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Vice Chairman of Berom Educational and Cultural Organisation, Foron District, Barnabas Zih, who confirmed the attack, said the incident occurred on Sunday night at about 8pm when Samson and two of his friends were said to be returning home from a neighbouring village in Gyemburuku.

“On a sad note, an attack was carried out by suspected Fulani on Ratsat Rung, Dogo Na Hawa (Gyemburuk) River on the road.

“Three boys, all residents of Ratsat Rung, FORON district, were coming from Dogo Na Hawa (Gyemburuk) around 8pm on Sunday, May 12, 2024.

“They were attacked around Ratsat River, popularly known as Kan-Zot Foron, which led to the death of one Mr Gyang Samson, a 28-year-old man. Pray for the family and community,” Zih said.
