Gov. Caleb Mutfwang emerges Plateau Man of the Year 2024

The Governor was nominated for his "exceptional leadership and visionary governance.

Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has been named the Plateau Man of the Year 2024 by the COA Media Group in its prestigious annual awards.

Announcing the Governor as the recipient of the award in a statement on Wednesday, Principal Coordinating Executive of the awards, Amb. Cletus Akhimien, said the Governor was nominated for his “exceptional leadership and visionary governance, which has driven the socio-economic transformation of Plateau State.”

“Since the assumption of office, the Governor has introduced groundbreaking policies and programs across critical sectors, including security, agriculture, infrastructure, healthcare, and education,” Akhimien said.

Continuing, he added:

“These initiatives have significantly enhanced the quality of life for the good people of Plateau State, and, established the state as a vital contributor to Nigeria’s development agenda.

“Governor Mutfwang’s unwavering commitment to securing peace, unity, and social justice has also been widely commended.

“His proactive efforts in conflict resolution, community development, and fostering harmony among the diverse ethnic and religious groups in Plateau State have solidified his reputation as a leader, deeply committed to the well-being of all citizens.

“His administration’s focus on youth and women empowerment and inclusive governance further underscores his dedication to ensuring sustainable development.

“The Governor emerged as the winner following a transparent public nomination and voting process conducted from November 14th to December 31st, 2024.

“The process, independently monitored by a panel of jurors, highlighted Governor Mutfwang as the people’s choice for his impactful leadership and contributions to the State’s progress.”

Past recipients of the Plateau Man of the Year Award include esteemed personalities such as Amb. Yahaya Kwande, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong, Her Excellency Dame Pauline Tallen, Hon. Chris Kwaja, PhD, Hon. Beni B. Lar, Nde Dauda Wuritka Gotring, Rt. Hon. Ahmed Idris Wase, Sir Joseph Ntung Ari, and Engr. Chief. Dr Meshach Congo Maichibi.

According to the organizers, the award will be officially presented to the Governor during a grand ceremony which comes up February 2025 at tuf Crispan Hotel & Events Centre, Jos.

The Plateau Man of the Year which is in its 10th edition, is organized by Coa Media Group and is aimed at honouring individuals and institutions whose contributions have significantly impacted Plateau State’s development as well as promoting excellence, innovation, and dedication in both public and private sectors.
