The Emir of Wase, His Majesty Muhammadu Sambo Haruna, has led a high-power delegation from Plateau State to pay a condolence visit to the Zazzau Emirate in Zaria as well as the government and people of Kaduna State following the tragic mob action that led to the killing of traveling wedding guests in Mangun District of Mangu Local Government Area last week.
The condolence visit is coming a few days after the Emir of Zazzau, Ambassador Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, expressed concern that no official delegation from Plateau State had come to Zaria to condole with families of the murdered victims.

While addressing the hosts, HRM Haruna expressed the sadness of Gov. Caleb Mutfwang and the good people of Plateau and emphasized that the visit was to commiserate with the government and people of Kaduna State, the Emir of Zazzau, and the families of those who lost their loved ones.
He also prayed for the souls of the deceased and healing for those who sustained injuries, while calling on the people of the Zazzau Emirate not to allow the incident to destroy the relationship existing between Plateau and Kaduna States

The Royal father informed the Emir of Zaria that so far, 22 suspects have been arrested by security agencies in connection with the incident and the Plateau State government will do everything possible to get justice for the victims of the dastardly act.
In his response, the Emir of Zazzau thanked Almighty Allah for the delegation’s safe journey to Zaria, and called for tolerance, peace, and mutual respect among people, regardless of ethnic or religious differences.
The Emir also called on the media to promote peaceful coexistence among people rather than escalating tensions.

A representative of the affected families, Yakubu Yusuf, who also spoke during the visit, expressed sadness over the death of their loved ones and thanked the delegation for the visit and appealed to the Plateau State government to come to the aid of those who lost their breadwinners.
