The Emir of Kanam, His Royal Highness Dr. Alh. Muhammad Muazu Muhammad II, has thrown his weight behind the ‘Time is Now’ administration of His Excellency, Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, the governor of Plateau State.
The Emir made this known when he received a delegation of illustrious sons of Kanam led by the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Chief Ephraim Usman, the ‘Garkuwan Baginto’, in his capacity as Gov. Mutfwang’s representative on a Sallah visit to the revered Emir at his palace in Dengi.
The delegation included Hon. Salihu Ayuba Musa, Executive Chairman of Kanam Local Government Council, and other prominent indigenes of the council.

During the visit, Chief Usman sought the Emir’s support for the “Time is Now” administration and requested prayers for Gov. Mutfwang to successfully deliver his mandate to the people of Plateau State.
In his response statement, the Emir emphasized that a man remains ‘immortal’ until he fulfills his divine purpose, after which he becomes mortal, subject to death, having completed his earthly assignment.
Another key point the Emir stressed was his role as a father and monarch, rather than a politician, which obliges him to work with the government.
He respectfully urged the Gov. Mutfwang’s administration to give due consideration to Kanam Local Government Area, highlighting the area’s pool of qualified and credible candidates for potential elective position.
The Emir clarified that as a father to his people, he cannot idly stand by while a credible candidate from Kanam is overlooked in favor of someone unpopular and from outside the local government area.
He pledged his support for any qualified individual from among his subjects and offered his blessings. The Emir also emphasized the importance of inclusivity for all in the ‘Time is Now’ administration, noting that this would be crucial for achieving greatness in the lead-up to the 2027 elections.
The Royal Father also cautioned his subjects to be wary of undesirable individuals within his Emirate. He further urged them to be vigilant and proactive in maintaining security, emphasizing that speaking up when they witness something suspicious would help distinguish the good from the bad eggs.
The Emir concluded by stating categorically that, as a father to all, he stands firmly on the political landscape of Kanam, endorsing the ‘Time is Now’ mantra and its policies. He pledged his full support to Governor Mutfwang’s movement until 2031.

The Eid El-Kabir visit was a resounding success, marked by warmth and camaraderie as the Emir engaged with his subjects. His lighthearted and humorous interactions, including quizzical questions and witty responses, brought joy to all. Notably, the Emir’s remarkable ability to recall and address individuals by name added to the warmth of the occasion.
Kanam is indeed blessed to have Dr. Muhammad Muazu Muhammad II as its Emir. May God continue to bless Kanam Local Government Area, its people, and leaders.
