Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja, on Saturday, launched a special operation codenamed “Operation Hakorin Damisa IV” during his tour of the council to access the situation on ground.
The special operation is aimed at countering the attacks on communities in the local council in particular and the state in general.
During the launch of the outfit, eight special Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs), army mounted Hilux vehicles and motorcycles were unveiled for the operation by the CoAS.

Lagbaja however, warned the soldiers that they were not in Mangu to play games but to make sure that the violence, attacks and killings that have been going on unabated in Mangu is quashed and nipped in the bud.
“You’re not here for a chess game, but a serious business. We will make sure that we address all the challenges you may encounter and for you to make sure that the crises do not resurge.”
He also assured the people of the state that normalcy would be restored not only in Mangu, but in the whole of the state sooner than later.
“The army wil only succeed with the cooperation of the people. If the people are not cooperating, the military will not succeed,” he added.
