Bus Conductors In Jos Jailed For Three Months For Fighting In Public

Isah Abubakar and Abdulrazak Salihu were both given three-month jail terms by an Area Court in Jos on Tuesday for fighting in public and causing a disturbance.

However, the judge offered the guilty parties the choice of a ₦10,000 fine apiece or three months in jail for upsetting the public’s peace.

Inspector Monday Dabit, the police prosecutor, had earlier informed the court that there had been reports of fighting among the prisoners at the Laranto police station, which was located behind the St. Augustine Major Seminary. According to Dabit, the suspects admitted to the crime during the course of the police inquiry.

The Plateau State Penal Code Law of Northern Nigeria, Section 83, was violated, according to the police prosecutor.
