Afrobeat powerhouse Burna Boy has smashed another record, becoming the first African artist to sell out a 21,000-capacity arena
The Grammy-award-winning singer thrilled a 21,000-capacity audience brimming with excitement at his concert at the Centre Bell, in Montreal, Canada.
This achievement adds to Burna Boy’s growing list of milestones. Earlier this year, he made history by becoming the first African artist to perform at the Grammy Awards.
His recent Canadian stop on his I Told Them tour saw him continue his record-breaking streak with the sold-out performance at the 21,000-capacity Bell Centre in Montreal.
Burna Boy’s electrifying stage presence, showcases his recently coined genre Afrofusion and is a unique blend of Afrobeat, dancehall, and reggae. His meteoric rise as well as his consistent achievements have cemented his place as one of the most prominent African artists of his generation.
Burna Boy a leading figure in the Afrobeats movement and has won numerous awards, including a Grammy. He had also performed at the Grammy Awards in 2024, and has not become the first African Artist to sell out a 21,000 capacity venue internationally.
