Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has termed the Appeal Court’s decision to annul his election as a “temporary setback” that will not prevent him from putting the state on the path of Unity, Peace, and Progress.
He expressed strong hope that the mandate overwhelmingly granted to him by the people of Plateau State would be restored, and he has directed his legal team to file an appeal with the Supreme Court.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Governor Mutfwang urged residents of the state and supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to be calm, assuring them that as long as God reigns, the people’s mandate will be respected and secured.
He reaffirmed his commitment to the rule of law and reminded the people that there is light at the end of the tunnel, citing his everlasting faith in Nigeria’s courts and constitution.
Governor Mutfwang closed by emphasising the need of maintaining law and order among supporters and inhabitants of the state. He underlined that Plateau will triumph to the glory of God and reaffirmed his commitment to serve the state with dedication and integrity indefinitely.
