After Mohbad’s autopsy, police are awaiting results

On Thursday night, the Lagos State Police Command announced that the autopsy of the late Afrobeats musician Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, also known as Mohbad, had been completed.

This was confirmed by the spokesman for the Lagos Police, Benjamin Hundeyin, in a post on X (formerly Twitter), and the Force is currently awaiting the results of Mohbad’s autopsy.

“Autopsy has been concluded. Awaiting result…,” Hundeyin wrote.

Earlier on Thursday, the late rapper and singer’s body had been unearthed, according to the Lagos State Police.

In the meantime, the Department of State Services (DSS) was called to participate in the investigation of Mohbad’s death by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Tuesday.

According to a statement from Gbenga Omotoso, commissioner for information and strategy, the Lagos state administration has taken note of the occurrences that have occurred since Mohbad’s passing.

According to Omotoso, the government has begged everyone who might be in possession of information that could be crucial to the inquiry to give it to the team conducting it.

He continued by saying that the government has also urged the investigative team to ensure the privacy and safety of any witnesses who could come forward with crucial details or suggestive evidence that could help the investigation.

The government spokesperson has also urged all of the deceased’s friends and supporters to maintain their composure and avoid saying anything that can be construed as being inflammatory or drawing any unfavourable inferences about this situation.

The Lagos State government also expressed its condolences to his family and supporters, and Omotosho stated that they share their sorrow at losing such a gifted and bright young man who had established himself in a very cutthroat field.

Following its inauguration on Monday, September 18, the Police special investigating team charged with solving the mystery surrounding Mohbad’s death has been given two weeks to produce an interim report.
